God of War Ragnarok was officially released today on PlayStation consoles, and it’s one of the highest-rated games of the year. Ragnarok is also the highest-rated first-party PS5 game on Metacritic. Only Elden Ring has a higher score on Metacritic than God of War Ragnarok in 2022, and the two games will probably go head-to-head for various game of the year awards. Now, it looks like KFC made great use of Ragnarok’s hype through a perfectly placed ad.

KFC UK has shared an image from a train station showing its ad next to the one for God of War Ragnarok. The image features an arrow pointing towards the game with the words “and that’s why there’s KFC delivery.” It’s a clever way to highlight KFC’s delivery service as fans may want to order food while they play God of War Ragnarok. As expected, the KFC Twitter account seems extremely proud of this incredibly well-placed ad.

The story of God of War Ragnarok takes around 20 hours to beat, but it looks like the full game with all the side content can take around 50 hours to complete. So, some fans will likely spend several days playing the game, which means more business opportunities for KFC.

Developer Santa Monica Studio released a day one update for God of War Ragnarok alongside its official launch. This patch updates the game to version 02.00, and it’s primarily aimed at fixing several bugs present in the game to ensure a smoother gameplay experience. The latest God of War Ragnarok update also makes other changes such as improvements to the UI, accessibility features, and the audio mix.

In addition to extensive marketing as seen in the image, Sony is also doing a cross-promotional activity with a first-party game to celebrate the release of God of War Ragnarok. Starting today, players can download free Kratos, Atreus, and Freya costumes in Sackboy: A Big Adventure. Fans should note that all skins are simply cosmetics and they will not have any impact on the gameplay.

God of War Ragnarok is out now for PS4 and PS5.
